Dear Mr. Bowie:

This letter responds to a request contained in a letter dated June 28 from Mr. Gary Freedman, of which a copy is enclosed.

Neither my wife nor I is aware of ever having spoken to, corresponded with or had any contact wth any of the lawyers mentioned in Mr. Freedman's letter, Messrs. Earl L. Segal, Malcolm Lassman and Laurence J. Hoffman, nor are we aware of any reason why they should have contacted or attempted to contact my wife in connection with Mr. Freedman or otherwise.

Neither of us has met or is aware of having had any contact with Mr. Freedman himself, nor has either of us read his piece, Significant Moments, or referred to him or it in any conversation with any other Akin Gump lawyer. Indeed, we have never heard of Mr. Freedman prior to my receipt of his letter today.

Very truly yours,

Peter R. Rosenblatt

cc: Mr. Gary Freedman

RE: Weapons Possession - Intent to Inflict Grievous Bodily Harm/Possible Intent to Commit Murder - D.C. Corporation Counsel Affirmation - Possible Concealment of State and/or Federal Weapons Law Violations

Dear Mr. Rosenblatt:

During the period March 1988 to October 1991 I was employed as a legal assistant in the Washington, DC office of the law firm of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld ("Akin Gump"). Attorney managers at Akin Gump terminated my employment effective October 29, 1991 upon determining, in consultation with a psychiatrist, that a complaint of harassment I had lodged against several co-workers was attributable to a psychiatric symptom ("ideas of reference") prominent in the psychotic disorders and typically associated with a risk of violent behavior. See Freedman v. D.C. Dept. of Human Rights, D.C. Superior Court no. MPA 95-14 (final order issued June 10, 1996). In the period immediately after my job termination senior Akin Gump managers determined that it was advisable to secure the office of my direct supervisor against a possible homicidal assault, which it was feared I might commit.

In pleadings filed in the District of Columbia Superior Court, the District of Columbia Office of Corporation Counsel (Charles F.C. Ruff, Esq.) affirmed that Akin Gump personnel had geniune concerns that I might have had plans to procure firearms for an unlawful purpose and possessed the intent to inflict grievous bodily harm or commit murder. Mr. Ruff currently serves as chief White House Counsel to President Clinton (telephone no.: 202 456 1414).

I have been under investigation by the U.S. Secret Service as a potential security risk to President Clinton, and was interrogated at the Washington Field Office by Special Agent Philip C. Leadroot (202 435-5100) as recently as February 1996, about 16 months ago. Questioning by Mr. Leadroot centered on the issue of presidential assassination.

I understand that you are married to Naomi Rosenblatt, the noted biblical scholar. I further understand that Mrs. Rosenblatt has participated in an ongoing bible-study program with Senator Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania.

I request that you counsel Mrs. Rosenblatt to disclose to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (David M. Bowie, Supervisory Special Agent, Washington Field Office, 202 252 7801) the content of any communications she may have had with any Akin Gump attorneys regarding me, particularly relating to a creative piece that I wrote titled Significant Moments. Attorneys who may have directed inquiries to Mrs. Rosenblatt include Earl L. Segal, Malcolm Lassman, or Laurence J. Hoffman (managing partner), among others.

Enclosed are some additional documents that provide background to the matters discussed in this letter.

Be advised: President Clinton's own lawyer, chief White House Counsel Charles F.C. Ruff, is talking real guns, real bullets, real brain tissue.

Sincerely,

Gary Freedman

cc: Senator Arlen Specter

RE: Weapons Possession - Intent to Inflict Grievous Bodily Harm/Possible Intent to Commit Murder - D.C. Corporation Counsel Affirmation - Possible Concealment of State and/or Federal Weapons Law Violations

Dear Sir:

I believe that there is a remote possibility that two Israeli nationals residing in the United States, Professor Benzion Netanyahu (professor emeritus, Cornell University, and father of the Prime Minister of Israel) and Mrs. Naomi Rosenblatt (who resides in Washington, DC) may have had communications with senior attorneys of the law firm of Akin Gump, and that these two individuals may, therefore, have information pertinent to a criminal investigation conducted by the U.S. Secret Service during the period December 1994-February 1995 (Philip C. Leadroot, S.A.).

I request that the Embassy of Israel assist the Federal Bureau of Investigation (David M. Bowie, Supervisory Special Agent, Washington Field Office, 202 252 7801) in obtaining any information possessed by Professor Netanyahu and/or Naomi Rosenblatt concerning the above-referenced criminal investigation. Akin Gump attorneys who may have communicated with Professor Netanyahu and Naomi Rosenblatt include Earl L. Segal, Robert S. Strauss, Malcolm Lassman, or Laurence J. Hoffman (managing partner), among others. I have formed the (unsubstantiated) belief that Akin Gump did contact Professor Netanyahu in the year 1995: that the communication was prompted by the publication of a book authored by him concerning the Spanish inquisition. Incidentally, I believe that Mr. Segal attended Cheltanham High School in Pennsylvania at about the same time as Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu; both Mr. Segal and the Prime Minister are near contemporaries. And, as you know, Robert S. Strauss served as Special Ambassador for Middle-East peace negotiations during the Carter administration.

Enclosed are some additional documents that provide background to the matters discussed in this letter.

Be advised: President Clinton's own lawyer, chief White House Counsel Charles F.C. Ruff, is talking real guns, real bullets, real brain tissue.

Sincerely,

Gary Freedman

RE: Disability Claim xxx xx xxxx

Dear Mr. Duker:

The enclosed computer disc contains all of my most recent personal files. The documents contained on the disc evidence a good faith attempt to investigate the surveillance of me being carried out by the law firm of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld.

I enclose a copy of a reply to one of my most recent inquiries; a copy of a letter written by Peter Rosenblatt, Esq. He claims he knows nothing about the surveillance. I happen to know that Mr. Rosenblatt is active in Democratic Party politics and I think he is a former Special U.S. Ambassador. Mr. Rosenblatt has a reason not to say what he knows about Mr. Strauss's law firm.

The FBI refuses to investigate this matter, although it involves an ongoing federal crime. Please believe me when I tell you I am doing the best I can to investigate. I just don't have the resources of the FBI.

Sincerely,

Gary Freedman

Mr. Rosenblatt may be absolutely honest in his denial. However, when I read his letter (which was unique in its response to my letters to various parties), the following line from Shakespeare's Hamlet came to mind: "The lady protests too much, methinks."

U.S. Inspector General Glenn A. Fine is also a graduate of Cheltenham High School in the suburbs of Philadelphia, coincidentally.
