In December 1941 air and naval forces of the Empire of Japan attacked the U.S. fleet at Pearl Harbor. Japan could not have foreseen that in a few years J. Robert Oppenheimer would invent the atom bomb, which would radically alter the status of Japan vis-a-vis the United States.
In October 1991 I was terminated by the D.C. law firm of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld. Akin Gump could not have foreseen that in a few years Vernon Jordan's protege, Al Gore, would invent the internet, which would radically alter the status of Akin Gump vis-a-vis Gary Freedman.
Think about it.
