Dear Mr. Lxx:
Enclosed is a copy of a letter, written in connection with a job application, dated March 20, 1999, addressed to Douglas J. Feith, Esq. of the law firm of Feith & Zell, located at 2300 M Street, NW, Washington, DC 20037.

Feith and I were in the same graduating class in high school: Central High School in Philadelphia, 230th graduating class, June 1971.
I have never met Feith and Feith should not know who I am. He came to my attention a few years ago: he was a guest on William Buckley's television show Firing Line.
During the period 1981-1982 Feith worked in the White House during the administration of former President Ronald W. Reagan as a member of the National Security Council staff.
In the recent past he has written articles that have been published in newspapers and national circulation magazines such as Commentary on the issue of arms negotiations and the Middle East peace negotiations. He has been sharply critical of the Wye accord.
Feith's law firm specializes in international trade among other fields. One of Feith's partners, L. Marc Zell, Esq., speaks fluent Hebrew and Yiddish, among other languages. The firm has links to a law firm in Israel. Given Feith's political orientation I would assume that he is a supporter of current Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (whose father Benzion Netanyahu is a retired history professor at Cornell University, and who published a book on the Spanish Inquisition in 1995). Coincidentally, Akin Gump partner, Earl L. Segal, Esq. (who was involved with my job termination), is from Philadelphia, and attended Cheltanham High School, the high school alma mater of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu; Segal (born 1947) is just a few years older than Netanyahu.
Also, coincidentally, Akin Gump partner Robert S. Strauss, Esq. specializes in the international trade field and was a Middle East peace negotiator during the Carter Administration. I assume that as Ambassador to the Soviet Union (later Russia) during the Bush Administration (1991-1992), Strauss was at least peripherally involved with U.S.-Soviet (Russian) arms issues.
Sincerely,
Gary Freedman
Douglas Feith, Esq. later served in the George W. Bush administration as Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, and was one of the chief architects of the Iraq War. Benjamin Netanyahu is the current Prime Minister of Israel (2010).
