Akin Gump Admission: Associate Writing Skills Not Up to Snuff

One wonders why Akin Gump associates would need help with their writing skills?  Wasn't their writing ability sufficiently assessed during the interview process?

The following is a testimonial (or admission) by Dennis M. Race, Esq., Akin Gump hiring partner, concerning a writing workshop held at the firm:

“Thank you for conducting your writing workshop at Akin Gump's Washington office last month. Your instruction, in both the seminar as well as the one-on-one sessions, was essential in helping to improve our associate's writing skills . . . .

We received overwhelmingly positive feedback on all aspects of your program. The participants appreciated your background as a practicing attorney and your sensitivity to their assignments and responsibilities. . . . We look forward to working with you again in the future.”
