VINSON & ELKINS

Mr. Gary Freedman

Washington, D.C.  20008

Dear Mr. Freedman:

Thank you for your letter and resume expressing an interest in the legal assistant program at Vinson & Elkins L.L.P.  We currently do not have a suitable opening which would utilize your background, and since we hire on an "as needed" basis, I cannot predict when new positions will develop.

Best wishes in your employment search.

Sincerely,

Janet R. Hook

While I was on extended unemployment compensation (June - November 1992) I was required to send out three resumes per week to prospective employers (total 78 job inquiries). I sent resumes to law firms inquiring into a paralegal position. I did not get a single interview.
