The Wrong Bull

I can never get enough of episode 9 of Season 2 of the CBS reality series Big Brother, which was broadcast during the summer of 2001.  One of the contestants used Hardy Hill's toothbrush to clean the toilet.  Hardy's response: "For her to think she could get away with it is ludicrous."  Later in the episode Hardy says: "You f----ed with the wrong bull.  I'm telling you, you f----ed with the wrong bull."

Big Brother is hosted by Julie Chen of CBS News.  Julie Chen happens to be married to the President of CBS, Les Moonves.  Coincidentally, Vernon Jordan has connections to CBS News -- or so the Internet reports.  But then, Vernon Jordan has connections to everybody!

Doris Kearns Goodwin (born Doris Helen Kearns on January 4, 1943) is a Pulitzer Prize-winning American biographer and historian, and an oft-seen political commentator. She is the author of biographies of several U.S. Presidents, including the psychobiography Lyndon Johnson and the American Dream; The Fitzgeralds and the Kennedys: An American Saga; No Ordinary Time: Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt (which won the Pulitzer Prize for History in 1995); and her most recent book, Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln (which reportedly influenced President Obama's cabinet choices).

Goodwin is married to Richard Goodwin (Harvard Law, summa cum laude), a spechwriter for Presidents Kennedy and Johnson. Mr. Goodwin graduated first in his class at Harvard Law School.

Goodwin was portrayed by the actor Rob Morrow in the 1994 movie Quiz Show about the investigation of the crooked CBS quiz show Twenty One back in the fifties.

Vernon Jordan has ties to Doris Kearns Goodwin and CBS News (a twofer!)

I really enjoyed this video. I watched the whole thing. Do they still do this show? I hope not.

That isn't to say I didn't enjoy the video. I meant what I said. I just think the show is a bad influence on children.
