This is Ridicurous!
In September 1992 I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder by attending psychiatrist Daniel Tsao, M.D.
The psychotic condition mysteriously underwent spontaneous remission.
I currently take 150 mg/day of the antidepressant Effexor. Effexor is contraindicated for bipolar disorder. The medication will trigger an uncontrolled manic phase of the disorder. Do I seem manic?
Venlafaxine (Effexor) is not approved for the treatment of depressive phases of bipolar disorder; this has some potential danger as venlafaxine can induce mania, mixed states, rapid cycling and/or psychosis in some bipolar patients, particularly if they are not also being treated with a mood stabilizer.
