In the Seinfeld episode The Marine Biologist George pretends to be a marine biologist to impress a woman with whom he's been infatuated since college.
In elementary school I had a classmate and friend, Lee Fuiman, who became a real marine biologist. Lee A. Fuiman is Professor, Section of Integrative Biology at University of Texas Austin and Department of Marine Science at the Marine Science Institute in Port Aransas. Incidentally, the University of Texas is Bob Strauss's alma mater, where he obtained both his undergraduate and law degrees.
I remember attending a birthday party at Lee's house when I was a kid. A mutual friend, Raymond Weissbein, was also a guest.
I can also remember that in the fifth grade he sat in front of me for a time. I can remember a day in the spring of 1964; he had his head down on the desk and complained about the heat. I suppose it was in June, the last days of the school year.
I also remember the last time I saw Lee. On a Saturday morning in May 1970, when I was 16 years old, I went to Cheltenham High School, in a nearby suburb, to take the SATs. Lee walked up to me and introduced himself. I hadn't seen him since the fifth grade, but he recognized me in the crowd of students. He had moved away and we attended different high schools.

The IG attended Cheltenham High School.
So did the current PM of Israel, Bibi Netanyahu.
So did Earl Segal.
Wow, what a school!
In the 5th grade I sat next to Susan Marks. (Philadelphia High School for Girls, 1970).
In the 6th grade she obtained a perfect score on an IQ test.
Our friends contacted Susan Marks in 1990, or so my contacts tell me.
Her parents had a Renoir copy in their living room; the paint flaked.
