On August 19, 1990, Leonard Bernstein conducted his last concert, which featured the Beethoven Seventh Symphony. Bernstein died less than two months later, on October 14.
August 19, 2010 was the last day I spent on the beach on my Atlantic City vacation; it was a gloriously beautiful day, the finest day of my two week vacation.

Bernstein's son Alex was named after the conductor Serge Koussevitsky.
Coincidentally, the Beethoven 7th Symphony is in the key of A, the same key as the Prelude to Wagner's Tristan und Isolde. Whatever that means!
