Dear Mr. Leadroot:

Enclosed for your information is a revised version of a letter dated June xx, 1995, that I forwarded to Mr. Eric H. Holder, Jr., U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia.

The letter brings to light certain facts that may be of concern to the U.S. Secret Service.  In its document submissions to the D.C. Department of Human Rights (DOHR), my former employer, the law firm of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld, omitted any reference to one of my former co-workers, Ms. Stacey Schaar.  DOHR made the factual determination that I reported an incident involving Stacey Schaar to firm management on October 24,  1991 (See DOHR Finding of Fact 4(d)).  Stacey Schaar was reportedly terminated for gross misconduct by Akin Gump in about May 1990, yet a termination chart prepared by the firm's personnel director, Laurel Digweed, and filed with DOHR in connection with my unlawful termination complaint, omits any reference to Stacey Schaar.  See Akin Gump Response at Attachment H.

This may be a matter of concern to the U.S. Secret Service since it was Stacey Schaar who stated to me in about August 1989: "We're all afraid of you, we're all afraid you're going to buy a gun, bring it in, and shoot everybody.  Even the manager of your apartment building is afraid of you?"  It may be a matter of concern that Akin Gump omitted any reference in its pleadings (both in its recitation of my "ideas of reference" and in the termination chart) to an employee who reportedly had information that I might possess or acquire firearms and commit a crime of violence.

The U.S. Secret Service might also want to assess the possibility that an enterprising journalist, bent on exploiting the public's paranoia, might float the following deceptively plausible theory.

[The letter ends here.  Apparently the document was a draft that was never sent to the U.S. Secret Service.  The document has the same M.O. as the letter I wrote dated February 20, 1996 that I did in fact mail to the U.S. Secret Service.]

DHR Finding of Fact 4(d):

(d) Shortly after, complainant was moved to the sixth floor office space shared with agency-supplied temporary legal assistants, Stacey Schaar and Gwen Lesh. On March 20, 1989, they began repeated references to Complainant’s friendship with Craig Dye with whom Complainant had worked at the law firm of Hogan & Hartson.

Complainant expressly recalls having mentioned Mr. Dye; a reference to Mr. Dye would only have arisen in the context of a discussion of harassment based on perceived sexual orientation.

Akin Gump may have omitted evidence relating to this finding because it tends to prove that I did in fact complain about harassment based on sexual orientation -- a fact that Akin Gump vehemently denied.
