RE: MEDIGAP INSURANCE -- POSSIBLE FRAUD
Dear Sir:
I have been unemployed and disabled under U.S. Social Security Administration eligibility rules since October 29, 1991. My former employer, the Washington, DC office of the law firm of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld ("Akin Gump") (Dennis M. Race, Esq., telephone 202 887-4028) terminated my employment as a paralegal effective October 29, 1991 because of concerns about my mental health and stability.
I am contemplating applying for Medigap insurance under Kaiser Permanente Medicare Plus, a plan sponsored by the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Mid-Atlantic States, Inc., an insurer located at 2101 East Jefferson Street, Rockville, MD 20852, telephone 301 468-6000.
I understand that there are criminal penalties for the act of defrauding an insurer. I have concerns about subjecting myself to criminal prosecution should I subscribe to Kaiser and make any claims to Kaiser for mental health care in the future event that any of my beliefs about my former employer, Akin Gump (which have been diagnosed as delusional or psychotic in origin), are found, in fact, to be true.
1. I believe that I was subjected to unlawful harassment and discrimination at Akin Gump. The Government of the District of Columbia determined that my job termination was lawful, and affirmed that my former employer had genuine and credible concerns about my mental state. There is substantial documentary and circumstantial evidence that Akin Gump's sworn statements about the termination decision were false, misleading, or perjured. See attached letter dated November 2, 2004 to DC Police Chief Charles Ramsey.
2. I believe that I have been the victim of a fraud and racketeering conspiracy run by attorney managers of Akin Gump that has involved the George Washington University Medical Center Medical Faculty Associates, The District of Columbia Public Library (Richard Jackson, Acting Director), and several high-ranking federal officials including former President William Jefferson Clinton, former Treasury Secretary Robert E. Rubin (a close personal friend of Akin Gump partner Robert S. Strauss, Esq.) and former Treasury Department General Counsel Edward S. Knight, Esq. (a former Akin Gump partner closely associated with Mr. Strauss), among others.
Could the U.S. Attorney’s office advise me about any criminal liability I might incur by subscribing to Kaiser in the future event my illness is proven to be an artifact of the criminal or fraudulent actions of Akin Gump?
Sincerely,
Gary Freedman
