Happy 16th!!

The second movement of Robert Schumann's Kreisleriana.

Kreisleriana, Op. 16, is a composition in eight movements by Robert Schumann for solo piano, titled Phantasien für das Pianoforte, written in April 1838. Dedicated to Frédéric Chopin, it is a very dramatic work and is considered to be one of Schumann's finest compositions.  Schumann completed the entire work in four days.  Schumann was a dedicated and highly motivated individual who took pride in his work and seemed to thrive on heavy volume.

Heralded „new shining star“ by „Zürcher Oberländer“ Georgian pianist Ketevan Sepashvili fascinates with her highly musicial and brilliant interpretations.

Currently living in Vienna her extraordinary talent showed its power already at the earliest age. Only two years old she started playing Georgian Folk melodies on the piano. At the age of four Ketevan Sepashvili started thereafter professional musical education with Tamar Pchakadze at the Paliashvili School of Talented Youth.

She continued her studies at the Tbilisi State Conservatory under supervision of Svetlana Korsantia. Her professional development brought Ketevan Sepashvili to Switzerland. Between 2005 and 2007 she studied with Hans-Jurg Strub at University of Music and Performing Arts in Zurich.

She has taken part in many international Master Classes held by renowned musicians such as Alexander Korsantia, Victor Derevianko, Sontraud Speider, Pnina Salzmann, Hamish Milne and Nikolai Petrov.

In her still young career she has already been awarded in various national and international competitions, which display her outstanding talent. In 2001 she was assigned „Best Georgian performer“ at the second International Piano Competition in Tbilisi.
