Your complaint against the medical doctors named in your recent correspondence was considered at the D.C. Board of Medicine's September 8, 1993, meeting.

Based on the documentation you submitted, it was the decision of the Board of Medicine that there did not appear to be any violations of the current law (Health Occupations Revision Act) in the treatment provided by the named physicians.

I had advised the Board of Medicine that I was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder by the George Washington University Medical Center Department of Psychiatry in September 1992, that Suzanne M. Pitts, M.D. had later prescribed lithium for that illness, and that the illness subsequently went into remission.

Did the D.C. Board of Medicine acknowledge that it has heard of a clinical entity: asymptomatic bipolar disorder?
